Who owns compareinternationalmovers.com, how companies are compared and ordered, and where the ratings come from.

Who owns this site

This site is owned and operated by the same company group as Shepherd International Movers. That company is listed in our comparison and labeled Our company wherever it appears. We may earn revenue when you book with this company. Because of this ownership, you should treat our comparison as information from an interested party, and check the linked sources yourself.

How we compare companies

Each company card summarizes the same areas, with a link to the public page each figure came from:

• Reviews: star ratings and review counts on Google, Trustpilot and Yelp, linked on each card.
• Complaints, BBB and licensing: Better Business Bureau grade and complaint counts where available, and Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) license status.
• Pricing and payment terms: what each company’s own website or terms say about binding vs non-binding estimates, deposits, destination charges and payment. Where a company doesn’t say, the card shows “Not listed”.

How the order and labels work

• The order of the company list and the labels Solid, Mixed and Red flags are our opinion, based on the areas above. They are not a ranking by review volume, and they are not a rating from any review platform.
• Companies in our own group are labeled Our company.
• Recent 1-star review excerpts are shown for other companies and are quoted word for word, trimmed with …, with the date and source. For companies in our own group, the card links to their full review pages instead, where you can read all reviews, including 1-star reviews.
• We do not create, buy or edit reviews. Star ratings shown on cards are the public figures from the linked review sites, not our own ratings.

Sources and dates

Ratings, review counts and terms were last checked in October 2026. Figures change often, so the linked page is always the current source. We used:

• Google Business Profiles, Trustpilot and Yelp (public ratings and review counts)
• Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) profiles
• The Federal Maritime Commission’s list of licensed Ocean Transportation Intermediaries (OTIs)
• Each company’s own website and published terms, linked as “Source” on the card

Check a company yourself

• The FMC OTI list (fmc.gov), to confirm a company’s ocean shipping license
• FMCSA SAFER (safer.fmcsa.dot.gov), for any U.S. moving or trucking authority
• BBB, Google, Trustpilot and Yelp, to read current ratings and the newest reviews
